Degenerative Disc Disease
Degenerative disc disease is when natural changes in the discs of your spine cause pain. The discs between vertebrae act as shock absorbers for your spine, and as you age, they begin to lose flexibility. While this is a normal part of aging, it should not cause pain. If you experience pain due to this, it is classified as degenerative disc disease.
Arthritis, or joint pain or joint disease, is the leading cause of disability in America. More than 50 million adults and 300,000 children are suffering from some type of arthritis. Common symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion. Severe arthritis can result in chronic pain, inability to perform normal day-to-day activities, and has the potential to cause permanent joint damage.
Radiating arm and/or leg pain
The legs and arms are a complex region of the body composed of joints, bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. These joints are some of the most mobile and frequently used joints of the body, and as such they can be a great source of pain for many.
Sciatica is characterized by pain in the lower back that radiates down one or both legs. The pain is described as dull, achy, sharp, like “pins and needles” or similar to electric shocks. Other symptoms associated with sciatica include burning, numbness and tingling sensations. Sciatic nerve pain varies in intensity from mild to severe, and frequency may range from occasional to constant. The onset is generally gradual and not necessarily associated with a previous event. Sciatica is also known as radiating or referred pain, neuropathy, or neuralgia.
One of the most common causes of foot pain is plantar fasciitis. Characterized by a sharp pain in the heel of your foot, plantar fasciitis is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament which is the nerve that connects the heel bone to your toes. The pain is primarily located in the heel but can be present anywhere along the length of the ligament. Pain from plantar fasciitis is usually the worst after you have been sitting for long periods of time or when you get up in the morning.

Pregnancy is a beautiful life experience. However, a woman’s body goes through enormous changes during pregnancy. Mothers can develop poor posture and more than 50% of pregnant women experience low back pain due to ligament laxity and a shifted center of gravity. Chiropractic care can help optimize pregnancy and protect the health of the mother and unborn baby. It also allows for a shorter labor, ideal positioning of the baby in the womb, and less of a chance for invasive practices during the birthing process.
Pediatric care (colic, constipation, sleep disorders, ear infections)
Chiropractic care is not just for adults. In fact, there are more and more parents seeing the many benefits of their children seeing a chiropractor every single day. Some of the benefits are improved sleep, improved behavior and attitude, and improved immune system function. Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.
We understand how aggravating a headache can be, especially if it is persistent or severe. Unfortunately, headaches and migraines can be somewhat elusive because there are several different kinds, as well as numerous triggers that vary from person to person. Thankfully, chiropractic care is one way to manage not only the symptoms but the source of some headaches.
